Julie Franchetti has tremendous creative energy which is clearly visible in her lively canvases. Born in Edinburgh, Julie' work is inspired by her creative spirit and extensive travels across the globe. In particular, her experience of living and working in Australia has developed her eye for colour and light.
Her first solo exhibition, "Colours", was held in April 2006 at the prestigious Bonham Hotel. This was followed by the "Energy" exhibition at the Edinburgh Sheraton's luxurious One Spa and Santini Restaurant in August 2006. Her third exhibition a collection of vibrant, colourful abstract paintings was held in Harvey Nichols Edinburgh Forth Floor Restaurant and Bar in spring 2007.
Julie enjoyed great success at these high profile exhibitions and her work has been in huge demand ever since, with many sales and commissions from private clients and high profile businesses, including Tigerlily, Edinburgh's newest boutique hotel, where she created a range of evocative images to reflect each uniquely styled room which are being met with wide acclaim from guests.
As further recognition of her work Julie has recently been commissioned to produce a dynamic range of large scale paintings for the exclusive Quartermile development in Edinburgh.
Throughout summer 2007, Julie showcased her trademark abstract canvasses, filled with life, movement and vibrant colours at Home House, Edinburgh's premier private members club. This "Festival Collection" also gave Julie the opportunity for a unique collaboration with renowned Michelin starred Chef Martin Wishart with "Art on a Plate" .
'The contrast between painting for exhibitions where I have the freedom to explore and experiment and private commissions where I can combine my art with the style and environment of the client, provides such great variety and is keeping my work really fresh'
